Lyra

Lyra was a stunning toddler girl sculpted by Ping Lau and lovingly brought to life in my nursery. Measuring 28 inches and weighing 10 pounds, she had a graceful, expressive presence with mouth-blown glass eyes in a captivating jade green. I painted her with Irresistables Heat Set Paints (IRHSP) and sealed her with a protective matte varnish. Her “Strawberries & Cream” complexion was softly enhanced with light mottling, blushing, glossing, and veining for added realism. Lyra’s human child hair was exceptionally silky—rooted and sealed from the inside so it could be gently washed and styled. Her lashes were also human hair, carefully applied and glued, and her pierced ears added a sweet finishing touch.

Lyra featured a ball-jointed body with a half upper vinyl torso, making her especially fun to dress and pose. She was filled with fine glass beads and luxury polyester fibers for a balanced, cuddly feel. Though she didn’t take a magnetic pacifier, she came home with her Certificate of Authenticity, a birth certificate, and a small, beautifully wrapped box opening gift.
